Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Senior E-commerce Platform Manager to own and grow our online retail presence from Johannesburg, Gauteng. You will lead the day-to-day operations and drive platform performance, UX, and revenue.

You will optimize SEO/SEM, manage large-scale platforms (Shopify Plus, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), and collaborate across marketing, IT, and operations to deliver a seamless customer journey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-commerce, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in e-commerce management or digital marketing.
• Experience managing large-scale e-commerce platforms (Shopify Plus, Magento, SFCC).
• Strong SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media strategies.
• Proficient in web analytics tools (Google Analytics) and A/B testing.
• Data-driven, with strong project management and communication skills.
• Hybrid work experience and knowledge of payment gateways.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the e-commerce strategy to drive online sales, customer acquisition, and retention.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the e-commerce platform, including website content, product merchandising, and promotions.
• Analyze website performance data (traffic, conversion rates, AOV) and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with marketing, IT, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Oversee the implementation of new features, functionalities, and platform upgrades.
• Manage the online customer journey, from discovery to post-purchase experience.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners.
• Ensure the website is optimized for search engines (SEO) and provides a superior user experience (UX).
• Develop and manage the e-commerce budget and KPIs.
