Job summary

The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay is seeking an Events Co-Ordinator to assist the Events Manager in developing and delivering events, groups and banqueting operations, with planning, sales, reporting and coordination across events, dining and group bookings.

The role focuses on coordinating with service, kitchen and front office teams, managing guest needs and supplier relationships, and supporting recruitment, training and performance appraisals, with growth opportunities within Village n Life.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a relevant events qualification.
• Diploma or degree in hospitality or project management advantageous.
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar industry.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• A collaborative leader with guest-centred service focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with product development, budgets and sales targets for events and groups.
• Act as first point of contact in the absence of the Events Manager.
• Support food & beverage operations including dining room setup and service levels.
• Coordinate with service, kitchen and front office teams on reservations and special events; prepare reports, maintain records and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and internal teams.
• Provide booking support for hotel facilities and activities.
• Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements.
• Handle guest needs, complaints and requests promptly.
• Schedule staff hours, assist with recruitment, training and performance appraisals.
