Job summary

Standardbankgroup in South Africa seeks an experienced Universal Banker to deliver client-focused service in a branch setting. You will engage clients, identify needs, and offer suitable banking solutions while meeting FAIS and compliance requirements.

Open and manage accounts, educate clients on digital channels, and support branch growth with a proactive sales approach. Strong knowledge of banking products and risk controls is essential for success.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or equivalent FAIS-aligned qualification in banking or related discipline.
• Meet FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients across branch and related channels to understand needs and provide appropriate banking solutions.
• Identify sales and demand generation opportunities through client conversations, promote relevant banking products and channels, and contribute to branch sales and growth objectives.
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts in line with procedures, risk controls, KYC, POPIA and FAIS requirements.
• Assess client needs by reviewing account conduct, income and expenditure, scorecards and supporting information to provide informed recommendations.
• Educate clients on banking processes, digital functionality, self-service channels, product features and their rights and obligations in line with the Code of Banking Practice.
• Maintain accurate records and update required management information, adhering to team ways of work and contributing to a high-performing branch environment.
