Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking an experienced Universal Banker to join our branch banking team. In this client-facing role, you will engage customers, identify needs and offer appropriate banking solutions while ensuring adherence to risk, compliance and FAIS requirements.

You will open, amend, transfer and close accounts, promote products, educate clients on digital channels and maintain accurate records to support branch sales growth and excellent service delivery.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or equivalent FAIS-aligned qualification in banking or related field.
• 3–4 years’ experience in branch banking or client-facing sales.
• Proven sales track record with cross-selling experience and targets achieved.
• Strong understanding of banking products, KYC and FAIS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients across branch and channels to assess needs and provide banking solutions.
• Identify sales opportunities and promote relevant products to support branch growth.
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts following procedures and risk controls.
• Educate clients on processes, digital tools, and rights and obligations under regulations.
