Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking an experienced Universal Banker to deliver client-focused banking solutions, drive sustainable sales growth and ensure adherence to risk, compliance, and FAIS requirements. The role is customer-centric with a focus on engaging clients, understanding needs, and offering suitable products.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in branch banking or client-facing sales, with a proven sales track record and strong product knowledge.

Qualifications

FAIS-aligned qualification and FAIS fit & proper requirements.
3–4 years’ experience in branch banking or client-facing sales.
Proven sales track record with cross-selling and targets.
Strong understanding of banking products, account opening, processing and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

Engage clients across branch channels to understand needs and provide appropriate banking solutions.
Identify sales opportunities, promote relevant products, and contribute to branch growth.
Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts per procedures, KYC/POPIA/FAIS.
Assess client needs via conduct, income, scorecards and information to provide informed recommendations.
Educate clients on banking processes, digital functionality, and self-service channels.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to a high-performing branch.
