Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking an experienced Universal Banker for our branch banking environment. You will engage clients, identify needs, and deliver banking solutions while ensuring risk and compliance adherence, including FAIS, KYC and POPIA.

You will also support branch sales growth and provide excellent client service. The role requires a national certificate or equivalent FAIS-aligned qualification, 3–4 years in branch banking or client-facing sales, and a proven sales track record.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or equivalent FAIS-aligned qualification in banking, financial services, commerce or related discipline.
• 3 to 4 years’ experience in a branch banking, financial services, contact centre sales or client-facing sales environment.
• Proven sales track record with experience identifying client needs, promoting solutions, cross-selling and achieving sales or growth targets.
• Must meet FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients across branch and related banking channels to understand needs and provide suitable banking solutions.
• Identify sales opportunities and promote relevant banking products and channels.
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts in line with procedures and compliance.
• Assess client needs and provide informed recommendations based on scorecards and information.
• Educate clients on banking processes, digital functionality and product features.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a high-performing branch environment.
