Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking an experienced Universal Banker for our branch banking environment. You will engage clients, identify needs, and offer suitable banking solutions while ensuring compliance with FAIS, KYC, and POPIA requirements.

The role involves opening, amending, transferring and closing accounts and achieving branch sales targets. Requirements include a National Certificate or equivalent FAIS-aligned qualification (NQF 5) and 3–4 years’ relevant experience, with a proven sales

Qualifications

• FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
• 3–4 years’ experience in branch banking or client-facing sales.
• Proven sales track record with cross-selling and meeting targets.
• Strong understanding of banking products, account opening, processing and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients to understand needs and provide appropriate banking solutions.
• Identify sales opportunities and promote relevant banking products and channels.
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts per procedures and FAIS requirements.
• Assess client needs using account conduct, income and expenditure, and supporting information.
• Educate clients on banking processes, digital tools and product features.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a high-performing branch environment.
