Job summary

Placements24 in Upington seeks an experienced Energy Storage Solutions Engineer to design and optimize battery storage systems for grid-scale and commercial applications. You will work with developers, engineers, and operators to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.

The role requires knowledge of Li-ion chemistries, power electronics, and grid interconnection standards, plus experience with simulation tools for performance modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in design, integration, or operation of energy storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of Li-ion chemistries, power electronics, and grid standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify BESS components including modules, inverters, and controls.
• Perform sizing, energy yield, and grid impact studies for storage projects.
• Develop control strategies for BESS to optimize performance and safety.
• Collaborate during EPC and commissioning phases; troubleshoot issues.
