Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join a hybrid team in Randburg, focusing on design, integration, and performance optimization of battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid, renewables, and microgrids.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, and contribute to cutting-edge energy storage projects, leveraging a strong electrical engineering background and battery expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
Minimum of 5 years designing, integrating, or operating energy storage systems.
Solid understanding of battery chemistries, PCS, and grid interconnection standards.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and system design software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Hybrid work setup with remote and office-based collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer battery energy storage systems, including component selection and system architecture.
Develop control strategies and algorithms for BESS operation and grid integration.
Model, simulate, and analyze performance to optimize efficiency and reliability.
