About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Banqueting Manager to oversee all aspects of events and banquets at their premier venue in Cape Town . You will be responsible for ensuring flawless execution of events, from initial client consultation and menu planning to on-site management and post-event follow-up. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating memorable experiences for clients and their guests. You will lead a dedicated banqueting team and work closely with culinary and service staff to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of banquets, conferences, and special events, ensuring adherence to client specifications and company standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and exceptional service throughout the planning process.
• Create detailed event plans, including floor layouts, timelines, staffing schedules, and menu selections.
• Supervise the on-site execution of events, ensuring smooth transitions, timely service and problem resolution.
• Manage the banqueting budget, including cost control, revenue generation, and profitability analysis.
• Train, motivate, and manage the banqueting team to ensure high levels of performance and service quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in event management, hospitality management, or banqueting operations.
• Strong understanding of catering, food and beverage service, and event logistics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in event planning software and standard office applications.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively under pressure.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding client expectations.
