Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Banqueting & Events Service Supervisor for a premier event venue in Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead service staff, ensure flawless execution of banqueting and private events, and interact with clients to guarantee memorable experiences.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years in banqueting or hospitality supervision, strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

About the Role

Our client, a premier event venue and catering operation in Centurion, Gauteng , is looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Banqueting & Events Service Supervisor . This crucial role involves leading and coordinating the service staff to ensure the flawless execution of all banqueting and private events. You will be the face of our client's service excellence on the ground, interacting directly with clients and guests to guarantee an unforgettable experience. Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct banqueting and event service staff during all phases of event setup, service, and breakdown. Ensure adherence to service standards, etiquette, and safety protocols for all events. Coordinate with the catering and kitchen teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages. Manage guest relations, addressing inquiries, requests, and resolving any service-related issues promptly and professionally. Conduct pre-event briefings with staff to outline event details, roles, and service expectations. Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring presentation meets venue and client standards. Train new service staff on service procedures, menu knowledge, and client interaction. Maintain inventory of service equipment, linens, and supplies, reporting any damages or needs. Uphold the venue's reputation for exceptional service and guest satisfaction at all times. Collaborate with the Events Manager to ensure smooth event flow and seamless client experiences.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in banqueting, events service, or hospitality supervision. Proven ability to lead and motivate a service team effectively. Excellent understanding of food and beverage service standards and etiquette. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor. Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as event schedules demand. A keen eye for detail in service presentation and setup. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a catering environment. Experience with client interaction and issue resolution.
