Placements24 is recruiting a motivated Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for a prestigious Sandton hotel. You will assist the F&B Director across restaurants, bars, room service and banqueting, maintaining high standards of service, quality and guest satisfaction.

Lead F&B staff, manage training, and ensure cost controls while supporting menu development and events in a dynamic, upscale environment.

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious hotel in the heart of Sandton, Gauteng , is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager . This role supports the Food & Beverage Director in overseeing all F&B operations, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banqueting. You will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction, while also contributing to cost control and revenue generation. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Food & Beverage Director in managing daily F&B operations.
• Supervise F&B staff, providing training, guidance, and motivation.
• Ensure adherence to service standards, quality control, and guest satisfaction protocols.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and maintaining stock levels for food and beverages.
• Implement and monitor cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
• Contribute to menu planning, development, and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
• Strong understanding of restaurant, bar, and banqueting operations.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage products, service standards, and presentation.
• Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic F&B management software.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Basic financial management skills, including cost control awareness.
• Experience in a high-volume or luxury establishment in Sandton or similar areas is advantageous.
