Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a sophisticated upscale hotel in Sandton to recruit an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. You will support the F&B Manager across restaurants, bars, room service and banqueting, driving guest satisfaction and profitability.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in F&B operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, strong leadership and cost-control knowledge, and the ability to work flexible hours in a dynamic team environment in Johannesburg's prime district.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in F&B operations within hospitality, with supervisory exposure.
• Proven experience managing restaurant, bar or banqueting operations.
• Strong knowledge of F&B products, service standards and cost controls.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; able to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the F&B Manager in supervising all F&B operations.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance.
• Oversee inventory management, stock control and ordering to minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and complaints promptly.
• Assist with menu planning, development and promotions.
• Monitor service standards and provide on-the-floor guidance to the F&B team.
• Contribute to budget management and P&L analysis for F&B.
• Coordinate communication between F&B and other hotel departments.
• Support the organization and execution of events and functions.
