The position is hybrid, requiring regular travel to client sites and remote planning from home. Candidates should have 2–4 years of field sales experience, excellent communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is advantageous.
• 2–4 years field sales experience in FMCG or retail preferred.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage a territory.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required for travel within the territory.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of retail accounts in Tembisa and surrounding areas.

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality consumer goods, is seeking an energetic and results-driven Area Sales Representative to cover the Tembisa region and surrounding areas in Gauteng . This role involves managing existing accounts and developing new business within the retail sector. You will be responsible for promoting a diverse range of products, ensuring optimal shelf placement, and driving sales volume. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the retail landscape. This hybrid role requires regular travel to client sites within the assigned territory, balanced with administrative tasks and strategic planning performed remotely or from a home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of retail accounts within the assigned sales territory, including Tembisa and surrounding communities.
• Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets and distribution objectives.
• Build strong relationships with store managers and buyers, understanding their needs and providing effective sales solutions.
• Ensure product availability and optimal visibility through effective merchandising and shelf management.
• Introduce new products and promotions to clients, driving trial and adoption.
• Conduct regular market visits to gather competitive intelligence and identify emerging trends.
• Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and expense submissions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to support local promotional activities and campaigns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in field sales, preferably within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or retail sector.
