Placements24 is seeking an Area Sales Executive to manage and grow our client’s FMCG business in Soweto, Gauteng South. You will build strong relationships with store owners and managers, drive product visibility, and hit sales targets across retail channels.

The role requires field-based work with travel to various retail outlets, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic market. Competitive base and commission offered, plus training and travel allowance.

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished name in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, is actively seeking a driven and ambitious Area Sales Executive to manage and grow their business within the Soweto, Gauteng South region. This field-based role is integral to ensuring our client's products reach consumers effectively through various retail channels. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with store owners and managers, driving product visibility, and achieving sales targets within your designated territory. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the FMCG retail landscape in the specified area. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve area sales targets and expand market share within the designated territory (Soweto and surrounding areas).
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including independent stores, small chains, and key accounts.
• Ensure optimal product placement, merchandising, and stock availability in all retail outlets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase sales volume and revenue.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess performance, address customer needs, and provide feedback.
• Monitor competitor activities and market trends within the area, reporting insights to management.
• Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Achieve agreed-upon KPIs related to sales volume, market coverage, and customer engagement.
• Provide exceptional customer service and build long-term partnerships with clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales, preferably within the FMCG sector, with a track record of meeting targets.
• A strong understanding of the retail environment and distribution channels relevant to the Soweto, Gauteng South area.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential for this field-based role.
• Residency within or near the specified sales territory is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with sales reporting tools and basic computer literacy.
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
