Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aquatic Centre Manager to oversee operations of a community swimming facility in Centurion. Lead staff, develop programs, ensure safety, manage budgets, and maintain facility standards to promote health and wellness in the local community.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, customer service, and community engagement within a dynamic leisure environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility management, preferably within a leisure or aquatic setting.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in staff management, training and development.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
• Relevant pool operation and lifeguarding certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the aquatic centre, including staff scheduling, supervision, and performance management.
• Ensure a safe environment by enforcing pool rules, conducting safety checks, and maintaining emergency preparedness.
• Develop, promote and manage aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, fitness classes and community events.
• Oversee facility maintenance, cleanliness and repairs to ensure optimal operation.
• Manage budgets, including revenue generation, expense control and financial reporting.
• Foster positive relationships with patrons, community groups and stakeholders to enhance the centre's reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the aquatic centre, including staff scheduling, supervision, and performance management.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety regulations (e.g., NARS, Lifesaving SA).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience in staff management, training, and development.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
• Relevant certifications in pool operation and lifeguarding are highly desirable.
