Job summary

This Pretoria-based IT apprenticeship program offers comprehensive training in providing technical assistance and support for computer systems, networks, and software. You will be the first point of contact for users seeking technical help, diagnosing and resolving issues within a supportive IT department.

Responsibilities include first-level support via phone, email, or in-person; hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance; user account management; and documenting issues

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with strong academic record in math and science.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and operating systems (Windows, macOS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to undergo formal training and obtain industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff.
• Assist with user account management, password resets, and access permissions.
• Document technical issues and resolutions in a knowledge base.
