Job summary

GoLean Health is hiring a Bilingual Medical Virtual Assistant to support an Internal Medicine practice. The role requires fluent English and Spanish, strong phone skills, and patient coordination.

This is a remote, part-time position offering 40 hours weekly with a starting wage of $6.50 per hour and a six-month performance review. The successful candidate will handle appointment coordination, insurance verifications, and patient communications, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Experience handling phone calls in patient-facing or healthcare support roles.
• Strong confidence speaking with patients over the phone, including appointment coordination and follow-up calls.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks accurately.
• Able to work independently and communicate updates clearly.
• Reliable computer setup, headset, and stable internet for remote work, with HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage high volume of inbound/outbound calls with patients, pharmacies, payer offices, and healthcare contacts.
• Provide appointment reminders, follow-ups, rescheduling support, and general patient assistance.
• Confirm patient information, document outcomes in the EMR, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of data.
• Coordinate with provider calendars, manage new and existing schedules, and minimize gaps or overlaps.
• Assist with insurance verification, copays, deductibles, and prior authorization tracking.
• Support administrative workflows, dashboards, and follow-up tracking with accuracy.
