Go Lean Health is seeking a Bilingual Medical Virtual Assistant to support an Internal Medicine practice remotely. You will handle patient calls in English and Spanish, manage appointments, verify insurance, and assist with referrals and prior authorizations while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

The role is part-time (40 hours/week) with a 6-month performance review, offering a flexible remote setup and strong emphasis on accurate, compassionate patient communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Experience handling phone calls in patient-facing or healthcare support roles.
• Confident speaking with patients over the phone, including coordination and follow-up.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently and communicate updates clearly.
• Reliable computer setup, headset, and stable internet for remote work.
• HIPAA knowledge or HIPAA-compliant workflows.

Responsibilities

• Handle high volume inbound/outbound calls with patients, pharmacies and payer offices.
• Communicate clearly in English and Spanish; provide appointment reminders and follow-ups.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments; note copays and coverage.
• Process referrals and prior authorization tasks; track approvals and denials.
• Maintain accurate documentation; support inbox management and task queues; ensure HIPAA compliance.
