Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois is seeking an Activity Specialist to serve as a positive role model and activity leader for youth aged 6 to 18. You will mentor Members, help plan and run engaging programs, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment under the supervision of a Central Unit Director.

You will foster positive relationships, support youth in following club rules, and contribute to daily attendance tracking, events, and overall program success at BGCCIL in Springfield, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of youth development and ability to motivate youth.
• Ability to relate to Members, parents and BGCCIL staff in a positive, professional manner.
• Organize and supervise Members to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication; maintain professionalism and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain communication between Members, Activity Specialists and Central Unit Director.
• Plan and oversee designated programs and activities supporting youth development outcomes.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and role modeling to Members.
• Maintain records (schedules, activity sheets, etc.).
• Recruit, engage and supervise youth in activities, ensuring safety and order.
• Foster positive youth development and track daily attendance and program activities.
