Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois is seeking an Activity Specialist to mentor and lead activities for youth aged 6 to 18. You will engage Members with high-energy programs, build positive relationships, and model responsible behavior.

The role emphasizes safety, discipline, and teamwork in a dynamic Club environment. You will support planning and evaluation of programming, assist with events, and help track attendance and participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of youth development; ability to motivate and guide youth.
• Ability to relate to Members, parents and BGCCIL staff in a friendly, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success.
• Learn Members' names and build positive relationships.
• Implement engaging activities with high energy to maximize participation.
• Provide mentorship and role modeling to Members.
• Support youth in following Club rules and conflict resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality of Members and information.
• Communicate professionally with Members, peers and the public.
• Assist with planning, evaluating programming and curriculum.
• Assist with special events to enhance Members' knowledge and skills.
• Track daily attendance and program activities.
• Foster positive youth development relationships and praise effort.
• Ensure safety and orderly operations in the program area.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper clubhouse property.
