Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois is seeking an Activity Specialist to mentor and lead activities for youth ages 6 to 18. Under supervision, you will implement programs that support academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character.

You will foster positive relationships, supervise activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with staff to provide engaging, energy-filled experiences. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of youth development; ability to motivate and guide youth.
• Ability to relate to the public and BGCCIL Members in a friendly, professional manner.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain communication links between members, Activity Specialists and the Central Unit Director.
• Plan and oversee the administration of designated programs and activities that support youth development outcomes.
• Supervise and assist with daily duties to ensure safety and program quality.
• Recruit and engage youth in activities and ensure high participation and order.
• Foster positive youth development relationships and model professional behavior.
