Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois is seeking an Activity Specialist to serve as a positive role model and activity leader for youth aged 6–18. You will mentor members, implement engaging activities, and help maintain a safe and welcoming club environment at our central unit in Illinois.

Under supervision, you will promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character while assisting with program planning, tracking participation, and upholding club rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of youth development; motivate and guide youth by building positive relationships.
• Ability to relate to the public, parents and members; convey BGCCIL policies and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare youth for success and provide positive role modeling.
• Learn members' names and build relationships to foster engagement.
• Plan and run energetic activities to maximize member participation.
• Mentor members, reinforce club rules, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Assist with planning, evaluating, and adjusting programming and curriculum.
• Support attendance tracking and reporting on participation and achievements.
• Maintain order, safety and professional conduct in the club environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
