Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Group Leader to supervise children in before/after school and summer programs. You will plan engaging activities, supervise for safety, and collaborate with tutors and coordinators to ensure smooth daily operations.

You will build positive relationships with children and parents, maintain attendance records, and support program staff. The role emphasizes creating an inclusive, supportive environment and participating in ongoing training and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC.
• Knowledge: Understanding of child development and safety.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a variety of activities for children.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being.
• Maintain program records and communicate with the coordinator.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver cohesive program activities.
• Be a positive spokesperson and promoter of YMCA programs.
