Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Group Leader to supervise children in before/after school and summer programs. You will plan and implement activities, maintain a safe environment, and build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities include progress updates with the program coordinator, collaboration with tutors, and contributing to daily program operations. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC.
• Experience with children in a group setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and safety.
• Strong organizational, communication and planning abilities.
• Basic computer skills (email, word processing).
• Ability to supervise and engage children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Supervise children and ensure safety.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver cohesive program.
• Maintain attendance and report incidents.
