Job summary

Catawba YMCA in Morganton, NC is seeking a Group Leader to supervise and guide children in before/after school and summer programs. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment and building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising group sessions, and collaborating with coordinators to support program objectives. Prior experience with children is preferred, and the role offers on-site work at the YMCA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC.
• Knowledge of child development principles and safety practices.
• Strong planning, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement educational and enrichment activities.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Foster engagement and inclusive participation.
• Coordinate with staff and parents to support program goals.
• Maintain attendance and incident records as needed.
