Job summary

YMCA of Catawba County is seeking a Group Leader to supervise children in before/after school and summer programs. The role involves planning engaging activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, and building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

You will collaborate with the program coordinator, support daily operations, and contribute to program goals by maintaining records and helping with daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC
• Experience working with children in a group setting is beneficial
• Understanding of child development and safety best practices
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks (email and word processing)

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children in the program
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
• Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively
• Maintain attendance records and report concerns to supervisors
• Assist in setup and cleanup of program spaces and manage materials
