Job summary

GWED in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time, Year-Round Assistant Program Manager to support the CRESP program for youth ages 9–13, with a summer emphasis on healthcare and technology careers including AI, financial literacy, and health/wellness. You will work with the Executive Director to plan year-round activities, coordinate staff and partners, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience in education, youth development, public health, social services, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience working with youth or coordinating educational or community-based programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities, supervise youth, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and electronic recordkeeping systems.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
• Ability to satisfy applicable background screening and youth protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in program planning and six-week summer schedule development.
• Coordinate healthcare, AI, career exploration, leadership, and wellness programming.
• Coordinate instructors, guest speakers, volunteers, community partners, and field trips.
• Prepare program materials, participant files, and logistical arrangements.
• Assist with organizing the end-of-program showcase and recognition activities.
• Support daily program operations and participant supervision during sessions.
• Maintain accurate participant records, registration documents, and attendance.
• Ensure compliance with GWED policies and DC DOES grant requirements.
