Talent Leverage in Washington, DC is seeking a Youth Program Coordinator to support and direct activities within focused program areas like Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. The role emphasizes creating a safe environment and mentoring youth ages 6–18.

You will implement programs, monitor safety and participation, coordinate with staff and volunteers, and prepare activity reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in working with children.
• Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications (Tik Tok, Class Dojo, Instagram, and more)
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Create a SAFE environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
• Promote and stimulate program participation; ensure the five key elements for positive youth development occur daily
• Ensure the physical and emotional health and safety of club members at all times
• Provide guidance and act as role model / mentor to assure conduct, safety and development of all members
• Help maintain facilities and equipment to ensure a productive and clean work environment
• Maintain close professional contact with staff, supervisor, and volunteers to communicate on Club operations
• Effectively implement and administer programs for drop-in members and visitors ages 6-18
• Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety and quality
• Prepare periodic activity reports and receive instruction and feedback to develop skills
• Participate in weekly branch staff meetings
• Participate in the implementation and delivery of other unit activities and events
• May assist in new member registration and orientation
• Additional duties as assigned
