SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time Education Program Assistant for the Family Services Department to support youth programming at two DC locations. The role runs Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm–8:00 pm (20 hours/week).

HS/GED required; 1–3 years in education or social services; CPR/First-Aid training preferred; a Bachelor's degree and a valid driver's license are desired. Responsibilities include leading youth activities for ages 5–12, coordinating with staff,

Qualifications

Required: HS/GED; 1-3 yrs experience in education or social services; experience providing services to children.
CPR/First-Aid, CPR for Infants
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 3-5 yrs experience in education or social services; experience with at-risk students and low-income families; Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Lead youth through SOME Place for Kids activities in an after-school program (ages 5-12).
Collaborate with the Youth Services Coordinator and staff to develop and implement programs.
Assist in developing communications to promote programs.
Communicate with students and parents to collect report cards and permissions.
Purchase supplies as needed.
Assist in summer programs as needed.
Assist with tutoring activities for children.
Develop a monthly activities calendar.
Assist with administrative issues as needed.
