Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is seeking an Assistant Site Coordinator to oversee after-school programs at South Los Angeles and Carson sites. You will plan activities across The Arts, Education & Career Development, Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation, while supervising staff and volunteers.

The role requires coordinating budgets, maintaining attendance reporting, and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for youth. Evening/weekend flexibility is needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of college experience or pursuing a college degree.
• Knowledge of youth development and curriculum development strategies.
• Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with youth aged 6–18 and staff.
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Experience in program development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Establish site activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience.
• Create clear goals for staff and conduct annual performance evaluations.
• Communicate and enforce BGCC policies and procedures.
• Promote and implement recruitment, retention and recognition strategies.
• Supervise school-site programs, budgets, and facilities to ensure safety and quality.
• Coordinate with schools, volunteers and staff to achieve BGCC goals.
• Monitor attendance, prepare program reports, and manage supplies within budget.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff and volunteers; collaborate with community organizations.
• Ensure facilities are safe, clean, and youth-friendly; enforce emergency procedures.
