Job summary

YMCA of Coastal Georgia is seeking a Youth Development Director to lead after school care, child watch, summer day camp, and teen programs across the branch. You will oversee program development, staff supervision, and community partnerships to ensure high quality experiences for children and families.

The role includes budgeting, ensuring licensing compliance, fundraising support, and coordinating with state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent sound working knowledge of child development principles.
• One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.
• Must complete state licensing trainings and YMCA program certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, AED).
• Ability to supervise multiple part-time staff at multi-locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees school age childcare and day camp programs at assigned locations.
• Develops teen programs and supervises teen activities.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates staff and volunteers.
• Manages budgets and ensures program fees are collected.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and safety procedures.
• Maintains records and coordinates with licensing agencies.
