Job summary

The YMCA of Coastal Georgia (Tybee Island) seeks a Youth Development Director to lead after school care, day camp, sports and teen programs at Tybee Island YMCA and Recreation. You will oversee staff, budgets, and partnerships to deliver high-quality youth development experiences for the branch.

You will collaborate with schools and licensing bodies, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to community events and campaigns while expanding services for local families.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and knowledge of child development principles.
• 1–2 years related experience in coordinating childcare programs.
• State licensing related training and background check requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to supervise multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage school age childcare and day camp programs for the location(s).
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and supervise staff and volunteers; review performance.
• Develop and manage budgets; ensure program fees are collected and activities stay within budget.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and proper documentation (Bright from the Start, licensing, CAPS, attendance, transportation, medications).
• Plan and supervise teen programs and events; support community initiatives.
