Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks a Youth Development Director to lead play centers, teen leadership, day camps, and membership programs. This role emphasizes hands-on supervision, budgeting, and community partnerships to promote safe, high-quality youth development across multiple branches.

You will collaborate with staff and volunteers, pilot new programs, manage finances, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 4+ years of program/people management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in child development, recreation, elementary education or related field.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with stakeholders.
• Ability to supervise staff and volunteers and manage multiple programs.
• Experience with grant management, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program growth, impact, and safety.
• Provide day-to-day supervision of staff/volunteers related to the department.
• Manage branch grant program to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and budgets.
• Design and improve programs; recruit and partner with community organizations.
• Oversee registrations, data, and scholarship applications; monitor program quality and safety.
• Lead initiatives with other departments on marketing, HR, and development.
