Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Youth Development Director to provide cause-driven leadership for before/after school care, summer camp, School's Out Camp, and teen programs. The role includes overseeing staff, budgeting, program development, facility management, marketing, and volunteer engagement, under the Executive Director.

• Functional leadership and program management experience within youth services.
• Ability to lead licensed child care programs and school-age activities.
• Experience in staff development, training, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and management of licensed child care programs (Before/After School, Summer Camp, School's Out Camp, teen programs).
• Lead annual giving and other association initiatives; support fundraising efforts.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff; ensure compliance with licensing and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain program operations, budgets, marketing, and volunteer management; collaborate with leaders.
