Job summary

Community Partners in Action (CPA) seeks a Youth Mentor for the REGIONS Staff Secure Residential Treatment Program in Hartford, CT. The role supports male youth in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive setting, with a 2nd shift schedule (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM).

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience with at-risk or court-involved youth. Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are preferred, and a CT driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; higher education welcomed.
• Experience with at-risk or court-involved adolescents; residential treatment preferred.
• Understanding of gender-specific, trauma-informed, culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate issues.
• Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and care to youth and assist with daily activities.
• Maintain a safe, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive environment.
• Use de-escalation and relationship-based approaches to support youth.
• Support discharge planning and coordination with the treatment team.
• Monitor youth whereabouts and ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Lead groups and activities, applying DBT coaching when appropriate.
