Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Youth Engagement Support Specialist (YESS) to work in Atlantic City, NJ. The role focuses on providing strength-based, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction oriented support to young people within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include crisis de-escalation, documentation in multiple databases, facilitating activities, and helping youth progress toward wellness, education and employment goals.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (concise, timely, professional)
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
• Driver's license with insurable record

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to young people and support case management goals.
• Welcome and orient youth to the program, explain structure and available resources.
• Build supportive relationships to help youth identify opportunities and resources.
• Support success plan goals and youth-identified self-improvement efforts.
• Document intake, orientations, transitions in HMIS/ETO and progress notes.
