Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking an on-call per-diem youth support specialist to assist in case management and daily activities for young people 18–24. The role requires warmth, trauma‑informed practice, and teamwork in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Responsibilities include accompanying youth through program goals, maintaining accurate logs, and supporting wellness and education efforts. Valid driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth, preferably ages 18–24, and/or homelessness or trafficking is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and documentation skills required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard and support to youth.
• Engage youth with case management to develop relationships and goals.
• Maintain logs in HMIS/ETO and document progress notes daily.
• Assist with activities, transportation, errands and program operations.
