Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey seeks Youth Engagement Support Staff on a per-diem, part-time basis in Atlantic City. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, harm-reduction youth support within a multi-disciplinary team, with responsibilities spanning engagement, activities, and documentation in multiple databases.

The position requires a BA/BS, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts. A valid driver's license is preferred; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth aged 18–24 who are homeless or trafficking survivors preferred.
• Self-starter and team player with good communication and rapport-building skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to young people regardless of behavior.
• Support case management to build positive relationships and progress on goals.
• Document intake, orientation, transitions, and progress notes in HMIS/ETO systems.
• Cover front desk and assist with building-wide duties as assigned.
• Transport youth in agency vehicles when required.
