Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Youth Engagement Support Staff to work with young people aged 18–24 in a trauma-informed, harm-reduction framework. The role emphasizes strength-based support, documentation in HMIS/ETO, and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to promote wellness and success plan goals.

The position includes evening hours (Mon–Wed 4:00 PM–10:30 PM) at an hourly rate of $21.77, with duties spanning outreach, activities, case management support, and transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth aged 18–24 experiencing homelessness or human trafficking or lived experience preferred.
• Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to young people and support case management to foster positive relationships.
• Engage youth in activities, document progress, and support success plan goals.
• Conduct crisis de-escalation and intervention as needed and document in HMIS/ETO.
