Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support 18-24 year-olds through trauma-informed, harm-reduction centered case management. You will engage youth, assess needs, develop plans, and coordinate housing, health, wellness, education and employment goals within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include documentation in HMIS/ETO, facilitating group activities, crisis de-escalation, and connecting youth to community resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field.
Experience with youth 18-24 experiencing homelessness or trafficking preferred; knowledge of NJ benefits.
Strong communication, self-starter, team player; Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

Provide unconditional positive regard to youth and build supportive relationships.
Conduct assessments, develop and monitor Success Plans.
Coordinate housing, health, wellness, employment and education goals.
Document in HMIS/ETO data systems; prepare case reviews.
Facilitate youth group activities and community engagement.
Attend daily meetings and supervision; cover front desk as needed.
Transport clients using agency vehicles as needed.
