Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey in Asbury Park is seeking a Youth Engagement Support Staff (YESS) to provide strength-based, trauma-informed, harm-reduction services to young people. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team in a safe, inclusive environment and help youths engage with programs and resources.

Responsibilities include supporting case management, documenting in HMIS/ETO, coordinating activities, crisis de-escalation, transportation when needed, front desk coverage, and contributing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth 18–24 experiencing homelessness or trafficking preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Valid NJ driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to youth regardless of behavior.
• Support Case Management with onboarding, goals, and wellness/education/employment aims.
• Document in HMIS/ETO, maintain logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate activities, transport youth when needed, assist with front desk.
• Participate in supervision and professional development.
