Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Youth Engagement Support Staff (YESS) to connect with young people ages 18-24, provide strength-based, trauma-informed support, and help them access education, employment and wellness resources.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, documentation in HMIS/ETO, and coordinating activities with a multi-disciplinary team to create a safe, inclusive environment. Shift includes Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM with hourly pay of $20.00.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth homelessness or trafficking preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to youth and build trust.
• Support youth goals using the case management system and records.
• Facilitate activities and emergency de-escalation as needed.
• Maintain accurate HMIS/ETOs documentation and logs.
