Job summary

The Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA) invites applications for a Community Associate in the Bureau of Youth Diversion. The BYD oversees Youth and Community in Partnership and Project Re-Direct, offering individual and group counseling within court-involved populations aged 18-25.

Under supervision, the Community Associate coordinates PRD/YCP activities, schedules staff and participants, monitors adherence, prepares court update reports, maintains records, and supports program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of community work experience.
• Alternative education/experience combination as described above.
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates weekly PRD general meetings.
• Coordinates and supervises program staff, volunteers, and counselors.
• Monitors participants' adherence to schedules and promptly addresses deviations.
• Prepares court update reports and provides input to judges.
• Maintains case file systems and coordinates scheduling with schools and defense.
• Performs related duties as needed.
