Job summary

Bay State Community Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Diversion Coordinator to manage daily casework for youth in the Commonwealth’s diversion program.

You will be the primary contact for youth, families, referrers and service providers, building professional rapport and ensuring appropriate interventions align with individualized case plans. You will gather information, conduct risk/need assessments, and coordinate with partners while maintaining confidential records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field or Associate degree with 2+ years direct experience.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and diverse communities.
• CORI check conducted but not automatically disqualifying.
• Ability to adapt, think critically and problem solve in high stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Meet with youth and families to explain the diversion process and expectations.
• Gather information to craft individualized diversion agreements based on assessments and reports.
• Match youth to interventions and develop the diversion agreement.
• Monitor youth progress throughout the diversion process.
• Engage youth in case planning and communicate expectations at each stage.
• Maintain documentation of progress in secure areas and input data for evaluation.
• Participate in trainings and professional development.
• Attend court hearings and meetings relevant to youth needs.
