Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Site Director to lead the afterschool program in Katy, TX, guiding staff and ensuring safety and quality aligned with YMCA standards. The role emphasizes youth development, licensing compliance, and engaging families and community partners.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours training in child or youth development; two college courses equal 100 clock hours.
• At least 1 year experience working with youth at a licensed facility, church, school or equivalent.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Supervising experience preferred.
• TB exam and/or health department regulations/immunization as required.
• Background and FBI fingerprinting check.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: oversee daily operations of the afterschool program and maintain site equipment.
• Supervision and Safety: ensure safety and security of children and staff; maintain attendance and reports.
• Behavior Management: implement positive behavior strategies.
• Program & Policy Compliance: conduct safety drills and ensure licensing compliance.
• Program Planning and Implementation: oversee age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Parent and Community Engagement: communicate progress and concerns with parents.
• Administrative Duties: maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: develop strategies to grow enrollment and retention.
• Program Quality: plan and implement lesson/activity plans per program standards.
• Program Evaluation: lead quality intervention processes and monitor youth participation.
• Child Abuse Prevention: report concerns; ensure proper sign-in/sign-out and authorized access.
