Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX to oversee a licensed school-age program. You will ensure safety, coordinate daily operations, and implement YMCA curriculum while building strong relationships with families and school partners.

You’ll manage staff, enforce policies, and drive program quality and enrollment, all while maintaining a supportive, mission-driven environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 70 clock hours of relevant training.
• At least one year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Ability to pass state and FBI background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe by maintaining a safe environment and accurate attendance records.
• Manage the afterschool site daily, ensuring licensing compliance and clean facilities.
• Supervise staff, enforce policies, and monitor safety and activities.
• Implement positive behavior management and connect with families and partners.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Engage parents and community, report concerns to Program Director.
• Maintain enrollment records and support program growth and retention.
• Ensure program quality and conduct evaluations for continuous improvement.
• Follow health, safety, and confidentiality policies and post required notices.
• Adhere to child protection rules and secure all spaces when not in use.

Education

High school diploma or GED
