Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs in Katy, TX. You will bring energy, creativity, and compassion to creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported and valued.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of youth-work experience in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting
• TB test and required immunizations per guidelines

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for at all times.
• Use positive behavior-management techniques to foster an inclusive environment.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning.
• Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Maintain a clean, organized program space meeting standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and the YMCA team.
• Follow child-protection policies and sign-in/out procedures.
