Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You’ll bring energy, creativity, and care to keep children safe, engaged, and learning.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of youth-work experience.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and child abuse prevention training, or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Able to pass background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and follow YMCA policies.
• Use positive behavior-management to support social-emotional growth.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning from YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space.
• Build relationships with children, families, staff and other teams.
• Protect youth with proper sign-in/out and vigilant supervision.
