Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader to support before/after school and day camp programs in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You’ll create a safe, engaging environment where children learn and grow, while building relationships with families and staff.

Applicants should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared to complete background checks and certifications. Part-time schedules offer flexible hours and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of youth experience in a licensed facility or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth.
• Monitor safety, headcounts, and supervision at all times.
• Foster positive behavior using constructive techniques.
• Lead games, projects, and activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean program space.
• Build strong relationships with families, staff, and school partners.
• Protect youth by following all policies and procedures.
